Who We Are
Women in Cleantech & Sustainability fosters an influential network of professionals to further the roles of women in growing the green economy and making a positive impact on the environment.
Our organizational committees are the backbone of WCS, playing critical roles in our success by driving member value.
Organizational committees are led by:
- Co-Chairs, who also serve on the Board of Directors, and
- Vice Chairs, who are dedicated to specific committees
What We Do
PROGRAM COMMITTEES:
Career Development Committee
The Career Development Committee produces programming to help women expand their networks and develop leadership skills. The committee offers Executive Leadership and Mentorship programs and events that equip our community with effective business skills.
Chapter Committee
The hub of all WCS local chapters, this committee supports existing chapters and develops new local chapters to expand opportunities for women to participate and benefit in their local communities.
Entrepreneurship Committee
Produces activities and resources to encourage and support founders, inventors, and anyone who aspires to drive cleantech solutions to market.
OPERATIONAL COMMITTEES:
Finance Committee
Works with the WCS Board of Directors (BOD) on the day-to-day finances and the financial strategic plan. It coordinates and delivers on the WCS budget for events, membership, and board committees. The committee also manages investments, contracts, and accounts payable and receivable for WCS. This committee reviews financial statements and reports while being accountable for educating the board to conduct proper oversight to ensure the strong financial health of the organization.
Fundraising Committee
Drives fundraising and revenue-generation initiatives that support WCS’s mission of advancing women’s roles in the green economy. Through strategic partnerships, corporate sponsorships, and donor relationships, this committee provides the resources necessary to sustain and expand WCS’s impact.
Marketing Committee
Expand the brand awareness and standing of WCS in the cleantech and sustainability sectors and to contribute to the growth of WCS through strategic marketing and the promotion of programs, events, and sponsors.
Membership Committee
Provides a seamless, meaningful, and engaging membership experience with a focus on diversifying as we scale and connect members to the local and international cleantech community.
Operations Committee
Oversees the internal functions of the organization to ensure efficiency, compliance, and alignment with strategic objectives. The committee supports the executive leadership by monitoring operational processes, policies, and administrative functions to facilitate the organization’s mission and sustainability.
Volunteer Committee
Responsible for our volunteers across all committees and programs at WCS. This includes recruiting, onboarding, training, retaining, and developing our volunteers.
